Starting in the fall of 2012, the Regional Planning Commissions organized community listening sessions and attended local events. These sessions and events provided vital information and perspective, toward addressing the unique needs of local and regional communities through an open, democratic process. Over the following months, the RPC’s lead their communities in looking at the big picture to integrate housing, transportation, water, natural resources, economic development, cultural and historic resources, public health, climate adaptation, and energy efficiency. Through scenario planning, communities thought through desired future development patterns, and identified and prioritized place-based implementation projects that support social connections and cultural values.
The final plans utilized a common outline and baseline data across all nine regions, while responding to individual community and regional needs. Plans and additional details are posted to each Region's page. Final plan components included:
